The police say that 24-year-old Derek Lee got into the house on Lakeview Avenue, where the owner of the house and her friends had a party of 14. According to the cops on the head with Lee was a dark ski cap, his face hidden bandana. As stated by the woman, he showed them his gun and ordered to give their money and phones.
One of the women, who felt that the appearance of the robber — is part of the entertainment program of the party, pushed aside the man's hand in which he held the gun and, laughing, said: "This is just a water pistol."
Police say Lee put a gun to woman's head and said, "I'm not kidding, I will shoot you all, if you do not give me your money."
Hostess Jackie Hagler said that after these words she decided to use her faith.
"When I realized what was happening, I got up and said:" In the name of Jesus, get out of my house now. "To which he replied:" I'm gonna shoot someone. "And I said it again, but bolder. Then we all started chanting, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, and he briefly looked around the room and ran to the door as fast as I could," — says Hagler.
Lee also accused of trying to rob a nearby ATM, which occurred shortly before his home invasion Jackie Hagler.
Police say that, based on a verbal portrait, which was drawn up after contact with the victims, the investigators were able to identify Lee and put him on the wanted list. Several women at the party later identified Lee, who was arrested at his home on the same evening a few hours later.
Lee was imprisoned in the detention facility the District of Columbia. He was charged with illegal entry and armed robbery at home.
Hagler said she hopes that Lee, in the end, gets her message.
"I forgive him and pray for his salvation. I hope that this situation will teach him to trust the Lord and help them to change their lives," — said Hagler.
