Group of faculty and staff at the Moscow Architectural Institute ordered prayers for the salvation of the university from the list of ineffective schools, said Friday the university rector Michael Shubenko.
"Prayer to be held on December 19 on the Protection church Ordynka Street, ordered the initiative group of employees. It will be the salvation of all afflictions MARCHI who collapsed on us. We have many different unexplained trouble and we think about how we get out of the black area. That may turn out to be, with God's help, "- said vice-rector.
"We're, like, all indicators the best school in the area, but then suddenly got to the list of ineffective schools. Of course, this may have been an error and misunderstanding on the part of the Ministry, but the reputation has suffered and now it has to be restored. We have a lot of intricacies that we do not know how to fight. We want to explain our position to not have to every time to solve this problem, "- said Shubenko.
He believes creative universities needs a special status that they do not fall to the same level with the others, RIA "Novosti".
"Creative universities can not be formalized, so monitoring of the criteria of the Ministry we are not working. We and our colleagues need the status of art schools, so that we are protected, "- he said.
Earlier, Minister of Culture of Russia Vladimir Medina said he did not agree with the inclusion of the Moscow Architectural Institute and other art schools in the list of ineffective. However, he finds it necessary to rid the universities of extra creative faculties — in his opinion, these institutions do not have to train lawyers, publicists and economists.
November 21 The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia has published a list of universities that require reorganization, optimization or are ineffective because of the specific activity.
Also identified universities recognized ineffective due to type of activity — usually the architectural and art, theater, travel universities.
136 of the 502 schools were "signs of inefficiency" — among them, were suddenly RSUH MARCHI and other famous universities.
Later in the ministry explained that the black list is divided into three groups: from the "creative" university performance is not expected, and the remaining universities will either help develop or "reorganize."
As a result, the Union of Rectors of Russia demanded the Ministry of Education to conduct a similar study among private universities "for the purity of competition in the education market."
