Hurricane "Fred" hit the Melanesian nation Solomon Islands, located in the Pacific Ocean, reports the meteorological service of the country.
It is reported that as a result of the disaster no one was hurt. However, the storm with wind gusts up to 130 km / h, blew roofs of many homes and felled trees.
At the moment, the hurricane "Fred" is assigned to the second category of the five-point Saffir-Simpson scale, reports "Interfax".
As expected, the storm, which is moving in the direction of France controlled the island of New Caledonia, may soon reach the third category.
