The imposition of a pressure bandage. What to do?

Your actions:

1. Lay the victim. If possible, remove clothes from the place around the wound and inspect it.

2. If the wound no foreign objects put on any clean, easily absorbing the blood of the material (cloth, a handkerchief, a piece of cloth and so on). If possible, raise the bleeding part of the body (it helps to slow the circulation of the blood and put it on top of the napkin, handkerchief or piece of cloth tightly rolled wad of cotton wool (or a roll of bandage, begin a tight bandage the wound.

3. If the bleeding is not stopped (you can see the blood seeping through the bandages), without removing the old one, put it on top of a new bandage.

It is clear that, if you don’t have this (gauze) bandage, you can use any available material (for example, cut in the bandage sheet, shirt etc).

In the wound or any other item

If the wound is a foreign object, such as a shard of glass, it is better not to try to remove it. This can further harm to the victim. Furthermore, the subject can serve as a plug for wounds, preventing bleeding.

In this case, it is best to act as follows:

1. Stop the blood, pressing for about ten minutes on the cloth around the wound and not touching protruding from the subject.

2. Make a ring bandage and apply it: this bandage will provide uniform pressure around the wound, not on it.

3. Sabinaite damage so that the bandage pressed the bandage above and below the wound.

4. Call for an ambulance.

Pressing on the artery or tourniquet

If the compression bandage can not stop the blood, try to do this by pressing on the artery that supplies blood to the wound.

First, try to pinch the artery hands. If it is on hand, grasp its higher damage and strong squeeze. When this blood flow out of the wound should be markedly reduced or cease altogether. Otherwise, you have to overlay harness.

To do this freely tie your hand above the wound with a rolled-up piece of cloth, rubber hose or thick rope. Then beneath the harness any short stick, pencil or pen and start to spin. The bleeding has to stop. You can then apply normal pressure bandage.

If the wound is on the leg, you want with all my might to push with your thumbs on the inner side of the limb above the damage or in the groin. When one finger should cover the other. If bleeding again does not stop, apply a tourniquet as described in the case at hand.

Remember: you cannot keep the artery is compressed more than 10 minutes! Otherwise the affected limb will suffer irreparable harm (in tissues can begin irreversible changes) and it will have to be amputated.

After applying a tourniquet and stop the bleeding, you must give the victim water.

After applying a tourniquet and stop the bleeding, you must give the victim water.

Damage varicose veins

Varicose veins dangerous because sometimes these veins burst and starts bleeding. It should immediately stop and bring the patient to a medical facility.

Your actions:

1. Lay the patient and push the damaged place a folded piece of cloth or just your bare hands.

2. Lift the leg of the patient and hold it in such position, while pulling on the bleeding place, about ten minutes.

3. Sabinaite damage more closely, using any available material, if not will be bandage.

4. If the bandage was soaked with blood, put on top of it another.

5. Try to reassure the patient and, placing a bleeding leg pillow, call an ambulance.

Bleeding from nose, mouth or ears

Remember that such bleeding — a sign that the victim is seriously damaged head (see head Injury and facial) or/and chest (see chest Injuries): blood from the ear or nose can go in traumatic brain injury, such as fracture of the skull base; the blood of mouth is often the evidence of broken ribs. Therefore, immediately call an ambulance, pre-seated victim in the position reclining and tilting his head in the direction whence the blood comes.

If the blood comes from the nose or ear, can be applied to these places ice. In addition, you can (and should) cover the bleeding place a clean folded cloth, handkerchief, cotton wool, but the main — not to put pressure on the skin near the bleeding.

If the victim has lost consciousness, lay it so that the head higher than the feet.
