When camping, it may seem easy to pack a few sandwiches and think that is enough. But it seems that when you sit by the warm campfire at night, you start to want some hot food that makes your mouth water. That’s why it makes a lot of sense to learn several campfire recipes to spice up your camping experience. Some are intuitive and probably know them, others may require a bit wilder imagination, but none of them is difficult to prepare.
Whatever the case, in this article we will give you a worthy collection of some of the most delicious bonfire recipes that exist. We will give you the ingredients and the details of the kitchen, you just have to go camping and do them immediately.
Several easy campfire recipes for your next camping adventure
The first recipe very easy and simple is the Bannock. These are the ingredients:
- 2 cups of your favorite flour
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda

The following recipe is surely something you have tried at least once in your life. We are talking about the Shishkebab. It is one of the easiest and most preferred meals for hikers and campers. You would need:
- Pieces of beef or pork of approximately 1 and # 8243; cubes
- Whole onions (preferably small)
- mushrooms (whole)
- Cherry tomatoes (whole)
First, take the pieces of meat and brown them over the fire for several minutes. When they are finished, mix all the ingredients one after the other, but be sure to alternate them. Keep in mind that you must stick the onions and mushrooms through their cores. Otherwise, they can fall to pieces in the fire. They have a fragile structure. The Shishkebab must be ready in 15 minutes. Optionally, you can sprinkle with bread crumbs (or cheese) to make the different crispy pieces. Enjoy!
Another simple but very delicious meal is the fish fillets battered in beer. This recipe requires very few ingredients, but the main one is fish. And if you have caught something while camping, you will be happy to read this easy-to-prepare meal. Here are the ingredients:
- Mix of pancakes (1 cup, buttermilk)
- 1/2 pound of fish fillets (if you have smaller fish, you will take two per person)
- beer (2/3 cup)
- cooking oil (1/4 cup)
- Spices – parsley or dill
Your first step is to mix the pancake powder with the beer, in a bowl. Beat until it is a homogeneous mixture and looks like a thick cream.
Then take the fish fillets, make sure they are dry (or the mixture will not stick to them). Then dip the steaks in the mixture. Prepare the oil in a pan. Heat it and place the steaks. Fry them until the outside is golden. Do not cook them too much. You can try them with a fork. The meat inside should be moist and flaky. Start by putting the cornbread mixture in a bowl and adding water, little by little, as you mix it with a fork. Do not add more water, the dough has to remain rigid. After you’re done, add the corn. It must be well drained so that it does not add more moisture in the dough (bread). Then place the oil in a pan and heat it. This recipe works well with highly hot oil, so start making donuts only if you are sure the oil is hot enough. Then start frying the fritters. Some aluminum foil recipes for cooking around the campfire
There are several more recipes that require aluminum foil to be made. That does not mean they are more difficult. On the contrary, they are as simple as the previous ones and make perfect meals for bonfires.
The first easy recipe that we can offer you is the campfire potatoes. It is very simple, requires very few ingredients and tastes incredible. So, this is what you need:
- Baking potatoes (preferably large)
- Onions (whole)
- Spices (dill, parsley)
- Bacon pieces (if any)
Then, take the potatoes and start cutting them. But be careful not to cut the whole potato, or it will not stay together. So make slices for all the potatoes. Then slice the onions and place the slices between the potato slices. Sprinkle with the rest of the ingredients.
Wrap the potatoes in a tough, durable foil and place the wrapper (s) near the charcoal (it’s hotter there) Let the potatoes cook for about 40-45 minutes. You can check if the food is ready by piercing a potato with a fork. If the potato is cooked and ready to eat, when you remove the fork, the potato will not stick to the fork. If it is not yet ready, when you remove the fork, the potato wrap will remain on the fork.

Another smart recipe is the pocket wonders. It is a very practical way to keep your food juicy to avoid leaks and dryness. These are the ingredients:
- the tomatoes

- lemon slices

The ingredients can be any of your favorites, but here are some ideas: potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, etc. However, cut them into pieces, not too small. Before placing them in the foil wrapper, first place a few slices of lemon on the bottom of the foil wrapper. As we said, this will keep the ingredients juicy and add a little more flavor.
Then put the ingredients on the lemon slices. Sprinkle with your favorite spices, salt, garlic, dill, parsley, chili, etc. Do not forget to add the cooking oil you prefer. We can suggest you add olive oil.
An interesting suggestion is to add a little beer (no more than 1/4 cup). Make sure you wrap everything well enough so that nothing leaks out. Before making this recipe, obtain a thick aluminum foil, so you will be sure that the food is safe there. You can also leave an opening for the juices to evaporate, but the opening must be small so that the moisture does not evaporate too quickly. Then, all you have to do at the end is to place the wrap near the hottest carbons and cook for about 30 minutes (more or less).
Here is another recipe for fish, this time with aluminum foil. Is called celestial fish. You need new resistant aluminum foil. If you do not have one, but a thinner sheet, be sure to double or even triple it. The ingredients:

- another vegetable that you like to add
- 1 tablespoon butter

Here is another delicious recipe that includes a little more ingredients than the previous recipes, but it is worth it when you develop and test it. We are talking about the Sweet sweet potato leaf tacos.

- fresh spinach
- Grated cheese
- sour cream or guacamole
- 1/4 cup of beans
Take the cubes of meat and put them to fry along with the taco and tomato sauces, and the beans. Fry until they are brown. Do not cook them too much.

The following is the Apple Sweet It is another easy and quick dessert recipe. Take the apple and cut it in half. Remove the kernel with the seeds. Then place the halves on a sheet of aluminum foil. Take a little sugar (optionally honey) and mix it with a little cinnamon. Then put this mixture in the apple holes where the seeds were. Then, carefully wrap the aluminum foil around the apple halves, so that the mixture does not fall and place the wrap over the coals of the fire. Leave it there for 10-15 minutes. And another sweet alternative for a dessert – the pineapple cake with donut. Take a donut cake and place it on a sheet of aluminum foil. Mix a little butter with brown sugar and spread it on the donut. Then add a canned pineapple ring on top of all that. Optionally, you can cut the donut in the middle like a hamburger sandwich and place the ingredients between the two halves. Wrap the sheet carefully and place it on hot charcoal for no more than 5 to 6 minutes.
Here are some tips that you would benefit from, so you can fully enjoy the above recipes. We already mentioned it in some of the recipes, but always that you can use resistant aluminum foil. If you have regular aluminum foil, duplicate it or triple it. It is very sad to see your dinner leak or find some ash in your food.
