Necessary materials

It is quite possible to sew the tent itself, but you need to understand what requirements it must meet. First of all, it should be:

  • Reliable, and withstand not only long time use, but also a variety of external factors: from wind to rain;
  • Comfortable. Its size should be based on the number of people who will be in it. The growth of people is also important;
  • Not heavy. This is important, especially if it is not just fishing, which you can go by car, but a real trip.

Based on the above criteria, materials for the manufacture of structures should be dense, waterproof. And very different, if they are also easy. Examples include:

  • Thin tarp;
  • Raincoat;
  • Percale;
  • Rubberized percale;
  • Bologna;
  • Special tent fabric. This is the most ideal option.

The amount of material depends on the shape of the future tent, but the difference is not very large. So, for example, a standard triple design for 4 people requires an average of 2-3 square meters less than a gable or single-sided form.
Additional materials will also depend on the type of tent. The minimum set implies the presence of:

  • Strong ropes;
  • Seam tape;
  • Waterproof mats;
  • Needles and thread.

As you can see, the set is quite simple and very affordable. You can find everything you need in the nearest construction or hardware stores.

How to sew a waterproof tent with your own hands

Impermeability is a very important criterion on which the comfort of being in a tent will depend. You can buy a tent fabric immediately, which is initially impregnated with a water-repellent agent. But there are a number of measures that can make even ordinary fabric waterproof, such as a tarpaulin. Here are some examples:

  • In a solution of laundry soap 40-50% to put the fabric until fully impregnated. After that, transfer it to the solution of copper sulfate 20%. After a few minutes, the material must be removed and dried thoroughly;
  • In 4 liters of warm water put 0.5 kg of soap, rosin in the amount of 450 grams and 25 grams of baking soda. In the resulting mixture put the material for about 2 hours. After the time has elapsed, it is removed and dried;
  • Combine water and alum in the ratio of 10 to 4. Add to the mixture 2 parts of fish glue, as well as laundry soap – 1 part. The tissue soaked in the solution is well pressed and rinsed using a solution of lead acetate in a concentration of 4%.

All these methods require the use of protective gloves and accuracy. But the simplest method can be considered the use of conventional film, which, if necessary, you can cover the tent and fix it with the help of clothespins.

A simple version of the tent can be made using the following pattern.

Pattern tentsThe dimensions on the diagram are in centimeters and are designed for a base perimeter of 150 * 180 cm. If necessary, they can always be increased by maintaining the overall proportions.

For such a tent will require at least one riser. You can use an ordinary ski for this. But if steam is immediately available, then even better. In this case, the riser is better to do in the form of a letter? It is very convenient, especially in conditions of poor visibility. The back wall is fixed on the braces, which is carried out from the highest point on the diagram. If the terrain is wooded and it is possible to establish a structure between two large trees, then you can not even use a riser.

The basic steps for tailoring a tent are as follows:

  • Embroidery stretching using a nylon rope between points A and FG;
  • Stretching extensions to points B and C;
  • From the outer side, at the corners of the base, loops are installed, behind which the tent will be mounted on pegs. A nylon rope is also suitable for this purpose;
  • If desired, you can sew a zipper between the doors.
  • Preparation of the base construction. To do this, from a durable waterproof, and preferably rubberized material, you need to cut the desired size of the piece and sew it with a canvas tent awning.

It is desirable to make holes in the design for air circulation. It is easiest to cut the sides of the tent a little and place a holding object between them, for example, an ordinary branch. The edges of the cuts must be thread treated so that the fabric does not disperse. The seams can always be strengthened with additional tape. Such a measure will allow not only to keep the tent from breaking the seams, but also from the ingress of moisture through them.

Winter tent for fishing do it yourself

A tent for winter fishing, in addition to the basic requirements, must additionally protect its owner from low temperatures and increased precipitation.

Since the basis of such a tent is made up of skis, you can use this moment in your favor, for example, to move the structure across the ice from one hole to another.

The manufacturing process is as follows:

  1. The tubes, which will serve as the horizontal upper crossbar, are connected to the ski poles, which play the role of vertical posts. To do this, use tees of suitable diameters;
  2. After this, the second end of the vertical sticks is fixed to the skis. A metal plate and a T-shaped tongue attached to the skis will help;
  3. In the case of an unnecessary clamshell, it is necessary to remove two tubes bent at the ends. They will connect the finished frame with a fishing box. To do this, they must have a latch on one end, and a docking assembly on the other;
  4. Box with tubes connected with a copper spring;
  5. The awning is fixed with the help of ropes. For this purpose, holes are made in the lower part of the material or a special ready-made metal strip is used. Sticks are inserted into the holes and fastened to the skis.

In windy weather conditions, the tent may not be stable. To do this, equip it with weighting.

Umbrella

Tent construction"Зонт"This is the easiest type of tent, which is very easy to install. This contributes to its umbrella design. The main frame is made of duralumin tubes or twigs. They have the necessary level of rigidity. From above it is covered with an awning from tarpaulin or other synthetic fabric. The minus of this type is low vapor permeability.

Frame on arcs

It is not very popular among fishermen, because it does not have high reliability and stability. Its structure is very simple: it is based on several arc frames that are made of fiberglass or duralumin. The second option is more durable. Due to this, the shape of the tent may be different. On top of the frame stretched awning.

Tent machine

The basis of this type of framework is made of thin metal rods. They must be flexible enough so that the tent can be folded compactly. This is the meaning of the name “Automatic”: when the tent is taken out of the case, it takes on the desired shape due to the spring state of the frame. The installation procedure usually does not take more than 20-30 seconds.

Tent machine for winter fishingThe disadvantages of this type is called the inconvenience of folding the structure, its instability and low resistance to external influences. Therefore, it is best to use it for day fishing.

Children’s tent do it yourself

In order to sew a children’s play tent, you will need 4 tall wooden bars, a piece of cloth, a drill, a crossbar and rubber bands. 4 bars act as bases, 2 on each side. Crossing them, at the intersection make a hole with a drill. A crossbar is installed in the holes that will connect the two sides.

Children's tentA small piece of gum, folded in half, is sewn onto each corner of the fabric. It remains only to stretch the finished fabric on a wooden frame. The tent is ready.
