A quick guide to preparing for anything.

No one knows when Armageddon. Neither the exact date, nor even whether zombie. However, all this talk lately about the impending financial apocalypse frighten many. These people have done little to prepare for something and most likely ask themselves the question: “Or is it too late?”.

You will realize that it is late when the pantry is empty, along with the grocery shelves; turn off the electricity, the water will stop coming from the tap and fifty zombies will trudge along the road. Up to this point there is time to prepare! I present to your attention a brief preparation guide to anything.

A small caveat: I have absolutely no idea what or when will happen in our country, around the world or in a particular area. it leadership given to those who are worried about the future and want to have a plan for preparation.

Step 1. Decide what you are preparing for.

This will help to focus and prioritize better. Although, some things are the same for preparation to most Emergency: loss of income, hurricane, power outage, earthquake etc. – each requires a different approach.

Step 2. Check your finances

How much money will have to spend on preparation? To increase the chances of survival, will need a significant amount of money. Already existing survivors stretched their expenses for years and months. Do not go into debt. You do not want to face uncertain future and monthly arriving credit card bills. Do what you can with what you have.

Step 3. Food storage

One of the primary tasks, regardless of occurring events. Prices in stores are rising, containers are getting smaller, and the consumer always loses. Lead inventory in your pantry and see what is and what can be put off for storage for a month (storage periods must be at least one month).

Step 4. Make a menu

A list of simple breakfasts, lunches and dinners, which can be prepared from products that do not require freezing (all of a sudden, electricity will be turned off). Recipes should be simple, and the dishes easy to prepare. Or do you really want to follow the stove three times a day in conditions apocalypse? I do not think. They should also be edible.

By the way, there is nothing wrong with planning the same dishes. As in the decision to eat canned soup for lunch. Arrange storage with groceries behind the wall. Hungry menu will help to stock up on a minimum.

Step 5. Make a shopping list

It’s time buy ingredients for recipes from step 4 on day 31 (month # 1) and then go shopping. Much better if you can get your hands on coupons and check the grocery for discounts.

Step 6. A little more about shopping

In addition to food, you will need detergents, laundry soap, additional prescription and non-prescription drugs. Pets need their own food and consumables. Make a shopping guide for doomsday, to decide what other goods in your house should be at hand.

Step 7. Decide how to protect your finances.

Prices for precious metals are steadily rising, while the value of the dollar is falling. Do you want to spend some money to buy gold and silver? Have cash on hand in case of national holidays or some other disasters, which can prevent the use of ATMs and other banking services?

Are you insured? It’s hard to say how financial crisis will affect insurance companies, but with a policy on your hands, you have some saving tool, if the house is destroyed, the car is stolen, etc.

Step 8. Stock up on water

Water is vital for survival, but it is unlikely that the chaos in the economy will necessarily close the treatment plant. Preparing for a different situation (almost any disaster) should be stored about 4 liters per person per day. A family of four requires a minimum of 106 liters to meet the needs during the week. You can buy a few packs of bottled water, but better cans of water. I modestly prefer 2 liter soda bottles, cleaned and filled with water.

Step 9. Make a plan to maintain comfort in the house

Cool in summer and warm in winter – without electricity. Many natural disasters and extreme weather conditions cause interruptions in energy supply. Even such a simple thing as strong wind may cause downed power lines and interruptions, and repairs will take several days. Yet again, chaos in the capital does not mean that our energy system is in danger. And, if government regulation of energy prices increases dramatically, most of us will save electricity even during heat or blizzards. You should have alternatives stay warm and cool, as well as cooking and water heating methods.

Step 10. Do not be careless about health

Growth chaos will lead to a lot of people asking for help to doctors and hospitals. Make sure you have a well-stocked first-aid kit, download or purchase a good first aid book. And also, if possible, have at least one person owning cardiopulmonary resuscitation and certificate of first aid. Respect someone with First Aid in the wild or training as a nurse assistant.

AT medical crisis you and your family can be on their own, at least for a while.

Step 11. Transport

We take it for granted, but you must have a second way to travel by the city. I recommend a bike with a small trailer or basket. If the roads are blocked, the price of gasoline takes off or electromagnetic radiation makes the car useless, you will be happy that you have a bike to get where you want.

Step 12. Consider the worst-case scenarios.

What to do, if financial crisis causes a sharp increase in crime? If riots and protests erupt outside the home or workplace? If desperate family members are in need of housing and food at your door? It is painless, but let your mind run wild and present these and other scenarios. So much so that you keep thinking and to plan, how you and your family can handle it.

Step 13. You can’t learn all about survival for a few days.

There are many lists of mandatory literature on survival (The author includes more than 30 books – ed.). The cost of a good survival library is about an ounce of gold — about $ 1600!

Step 14. How do you save stocks?

In other words, do you have safety system? It can be installed in the house, but should not be the simplest. Firearms it makes sense, but don’t buy a gun if you don’t know how to use it. Or be ready to attend classrooms and often practice at the shooting range. At a minimum, your family should have a rifle (12 gauge is most popular, although the 20th has less recoil) and a pistol (preferably 9 mm, 40 or 45 caliber). I can not stress the importance of learning and practice. How many rounds should I have on hand? As much as you can afford.

Even end of the world won’t happen in the next few days it’s quick start guide will give a turbo charge to your preparation and a firm intention to continue. No one prepared enough to stop. There is always something that can be learned and one more thing to do. However, let your mind be at peace, knowing that you have done some important preparation steps your home and family.
