The group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs includes drugs with analgesic and antipyretic effects (metamizole sodium, acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol and others). The result of poisoning with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is a lesion of the central nervous system and the mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract. Salicylates (acetylsalicylic acid) also reduce blood coagulation.

In case of poisoning metamizole sodium and similar drugs manifest their neurotoxic and psychotropic effects. In case of mild poisoning, the victim may experience tinnitus, nausea, vomiting, severe weakness, palpitations, shortness of breath, and body temperature decreases. In case of severe non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs poisoning, convulsive manifestations, drowsiness, delirium are possible, then the victim loses consciousness and a coma occurs.

In case of poisoning with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, gastric lavage should be performed using a probe or artificial induction of vomiting. Enter through a probe or give the victim drink 100-200 ml of liquid paraffin, give a saline laxative (20-30 g of sodium sulfate). Diuretics are also used (1-2 ml of furosemide intramuscularly). With convulsions, anticonvulsants are administered intramuscularly and intravenously.

In case of paracetamol poisoning, an antidote (acetylcysteine) is used, which is administered orally at a dose of 140 mg / kg body weight (a 5% solution in water or juice is prepared). In the future, it is administered 4-6 times a day at 70 mg / kg of body weight. In case of salicylate poisoning, it is necessary to provide the victim with abundant alkaline drink (a weak solution of baking soda) or an enema with a solution of sodium bicarbonate (0.4 g / kg body weight) hourly until normal respiratory activity.

In case of bleeding, hemostatic drugs (vikasol, calcium chloride), blood and its preparations are prescribed. Treatment of impaired liver and kidney function, chemical burns of the digestive tract.
