A hammock hut when spending the night in a swampy area will be most convenient for one person. For its construction, from two sides two long frame poles are pressed to the trunks of two trees located 2-3 meters from each other, which are pulled together along the entire length by a strong rope, which at the same time acts as a flooring.
Hammock hut, sedentary hammock, shelter from a reed in a swamp in an emergency for victims of disaster.
Under the weight of a person sitting on a hammock, the frame sags down and wedges on the trunks. Above the frame on the protruding knots of the trunks, you can fix 1-2 poles through which to transfer a fabric or piece of polyethylene to form a canopy-roof.
or jungle – in places where poisonous snakes and spiders abound. The disadvantage of such hammocks is their shapelessness. On the other hand, they guarantee against accidental loss of a sleeping person from them. By the way, hammocks of this shape, crimping on all sides and fixing the sleeping sailor during the pitching, were used on old ships. In the absence of trees suitable for hanging hammocks, two slingshots can be driven into the ground, a longitudinal pole can be inserted into them, to which a simple hammock can be hung.
, in which corners are cut. The backpack is suspended under a strong branch of a tree, respectively, a person sits in it, with his legs in the holes. But you can tie a platform from the branches, which on two ropes (like a swing) to hang under a tree. Climbers like this rest on rocky areas. For greater convenience, 1-2 transverse poles can be tied to the ropes from the back. Then you can lean back on them.
For those who are frightened of such extreme nights and who prefer not to hang but to sit, we can offer the design of a simple chaise lounge chair. In order not to contact the soles with wet or cold soil, the deck chair should be raised higher above the ground and provide for an appropriate step-bar under the feet.
The simplest shelters in the swamp of reeds.
When you do not have any building material when you spend a forced night in a swamp, it remains to use reeds for housing. He must be abundant in the swamp. The simplest, insulating from wet soil flooring can be built by throwing a thick layer of reeds on the ground.
Only it should be laid in layers located perpendicular to each other. Otherwise, it will squeeze and creep under the weight of the body. It is even better to tie the reeds into thick bunches and lay them down. Of these reed sheaves, you can build not just a couch – a whole boat.
The same reeds can be useful for building a capital shelter. For this, a beam with a diameter of 20-30 cm is connected from the longest stalks of reeds, which bends in a semicircle in the middle and is fixed on the ground, for example, it is tied to growing reeds or digged into the ground. Nearby are several more similar arches. From above, roof rafters, all connected from the same reed, are laid on them. Then the whole structure is intertwined with individual stems forming the roof. When weaving, it is necessary to strive so that the last layers of reeds are arranged vertically, which contributes to the drainage of raindrops.
In a transverse arrangement, water seeps between stems more easily. From small reeds or other marsh grassy vegetation, we can mats, from which, connecting them with each other, build primitive shelters.
