Most people, when they need self-defense, usually resort to buying a Taser or manufactured stun gun. But few people really embark on the journey of doing theirs. And it can be quite fun, and you also learn some things about how electricity and circuits work (if you do not already know). Some engineering students receive similar projects at the beginning of the course, so it is not sophisticated or difficult to do. You can use pieces that are easy to find, either from the gadgets you already have, or from some reconditioned or second-hand devices.
While there are many online tutorials, some are too easy, others are even dangerous, we have compiled instructions that require accessible and easy-to-find elements, and the process itself does not ask for it day after day. get.

Instructions for a homemade taser or stun gun
Here we will share a brief instruction method to start with a very simple home taser for beginners.
Barbecue lighter taser
You will need very few items: a barbecue lighter, scissors, tape and an ordinary one. Start by disassembling the lighter and the pen. You must remove all screwdrivers and tapes that are in the cigarette lighter to be able to open it safely. Then you have to locate the small black element that holds the two wires, which basically start the spark when you try to use the lighter in the normal way. Cut the cables, so that they have on average the same length as the pen you have prepared. Cut the plastic insulation from the top of the two wires, no more than half an inch.
Next, you must make sure that the two cables are stretched to the opposite side of the black element button that you removed from the lighter. Imagine that when you need to use the final taser, you must press the button as you do with a pen.
Next, take the pen and disassemble it too. Remove all the items that are inside, including the ink refill. You should have only a small tube-like object. Connect the article and the black cables to the pen, so that the cables run along the length of the pen. The valuer’s button should be where the original pencil button was, and the bare wires should be where the top of the pencil was.
Use the adhesive tape to firmly attach the elements and basically you will be ready for this. Since the electricity generated by the lighter is not high voltage, the discharge will not be so strong. It all depends on what you use for the electricity generator.

Kodak taser camera
The next one is slightly more advanced, since it uses not only the small electrical part of a lighter, but the circuit board of an old Kodak camera. So for this tutorial you will need a Kodak camera and a soldering iron. A useful article to prepare is a screwdriver.
Use the screwdriver to remove all the screws from the camera in order to remove the protective casing. Remove the battery first and then the film. Warning: be careful with the battery, because if you touch it while it is still firmly in its slot, it may impact you. Withdraw it safely, holding it in the protection areas and do that first. Then it will be easier to manage the articles.
Also, you should remove the bulb, but do so carefully so as not to destroy the entire configuration. The circuit board can be easily broken as it is made of plastic.
Then, when you have removed the battery, you will have two protruding cables. You must solder an additional cable to one of the cables of the camera, and a second to the other cable. This means that you virtually have to extend the already welded cables that are in the camera by adding a little more length.
Your final steps are to add the battery again so that it can provide electricity and energy. Pressing the button on the camera activates the electrical circuit and, if you hold the wires to an object, you will literally see sparks coming out.
To make sure that this is a safe tool to use, since you do not want to do it yourself, it is better to use a rigid plastic box to place the circuit board and battery, and just leave the clogged wires (to really works) . Glue two pieces of y # 8216; Five-star folder, and it will have the security shell. Also, cut a hole where the button is, so you can press it. Or you can also use cardboard to make the housing. Since the cardboard is more flexible, you may not even need a hole for buttons. You can also stick everything with protective electrical tape.
Taser disposable camera
Here is another version of the previous Taser that we did, but with a little more detail and a bit of a different configuration.
Again, you need a camera (it could be a Kodak camera), but any disposable camera will work. What makes disposable cameras so often used for home cameras is that they contain a value capacitor, or in short and # 8216; super cap ‘, which means you can store a high-voltage charge for the camera to produce a bright flash. By pressing the button you hear the click inside. That’s when the capacitor is charged.
Let’s start. Prepare the disposable camera, some cable, tape as usual and Velcro.
Useful advice: You can get a free disposable camera at the local convenience store. Since these are used quickly and then they are literally deleted, you can get them for free.
Then, open the camera and remove the paper cover. In case you want to disguise and # 8216; taser ‘to continue to look like a camera, you must be very careful, as it can deceive an ordinary person. This is especially true for young children. Therefore, if you replace the paper cover, you should keep in mind that people can confuse it with a real camera.
When you opened the camera, you should also remove the battery. Next, press the plastic latches that hold the two sides of the camera to open it. When you open the camera, you will see the circuit board. Do not touch it yet!
The next step is important: you must first download the capacitor. Often, you can store energy even if you do not use it and this energy must be released first before continuing. Take a common screwdriver or similar object with a metal head and a rubber or plastic handle (this is important too!). Tap and # 8216; super cap ‘with the metallic head of the screwdriver for the energy to move.
You should see some sparks and pop. This means that the energy is already released. If you do not hear or see anything, keep trying. In case it still does not produce sparks or pop sounds, then obviously the capacitor does not store additional energy and it is safe to continue.
Next, remove the circuit board from the camera case. It should be relatively easy to do it. Find the flash box: you must remove it from the circuit board, since you do not need it. Otherwise, keep everything else where it is. You can test the capacitor one more time with the screwdriver before continuing. Only as a double verification.
Now, take the two cables that you prepared at the beginning of the tutorial. Remove part of the upper plastic insulation to expose the actual wires. Next, you must wrap each end of the cable in a corresponding capacitor cable (right where the flash box was). Make sure that the two cables can not touch each other in case you move them. They should be tightly wrapped around the condenser. Otherwise, you risk a short circuit.
Now it is safe to close the other case of the camera. He should look like a camera again, except he is not. The two wires you just connected to the capacitor should leave where the flash box should have been if the camera was intact.
Then, take the two cables and tape them to the camera, but make sure the ends are exposed, and glue them so that you still have the wires exposed firmly on the edge of the camera. Use the adhesive tape to make everything that wraps and secure in place. Basically, the cables that are exposed in the camera now are those that will impact the opponent or aggressor. Therefore, to stay safe, do not touch these exposed wires.
Before making the protective case for your taser, place a battery in the camera and press the button on the camera. Hold the Taser device against an inanimate object (a plastic or metal object) and when you press the button, you will see strong sparks and a burst while the electrical contact is made. If that works, then your taser is ready. Now, to the protective casing.
Use a bright color for your casing, so that you are constantly reminded that this is a dangerous element, with which you should not play. Use the velcro to make a flap stuck around the exposed wires. You can also design a battery holder next to the camera, so that if it falls into the hands of a child, do not electrocute yourself. If the battery is far from the camera slot, then it is a safe device.
Otherwise, keep in mind that since the previous Taser does not use alternating current, but is constant, it can kill a person or animal virtually. The current is so strong that if it is maintained if for more than a fraction of a second it can tear the tissues of the heart and cause death. If you want to produce an alternating current like real tasers do, you can adjust the circuits if you know what you are doing.
Bug Zapper Taser
Another type of taser is one that uses a “zapper bug” as a basic electrical device. Insect zappers look like tennis bats but they work with electricity so you can neutralize insects. The most important thing is that we are interested in the handle of the zapper, since it contains the battery and the circuits.
Safety tip: remove the battery before starting to disassemble the bat or you can electrocute it.
Take the zapper and use a screwdriver to open everything. Start with the nails in the handle and open the box. Then remove the part of the network. You need to cut the two wires that come from the handle and are connected to the bat’s net. Cut them carefully. You no longer need the part of the network, so leave it aside. We will focus on the mango part.
Next, you must join the two hanging cables that you just disconnected from the part of the bat’s net. . Then take a pair of pliers and use them to expose the second wire you will see (ideally it should be a black wire). Expose the cable without damaging it.
Prepare two long nails. You must tie around each of the two exposed wires: one for one nail and the other for the second. They will be delivering, but that will be fixed later.
Close the handle cover and use the screwdriver to place the corresponding nails in place. Use glue on the two hanging nails that you attached to the exposed wires. Glue them to the internal sides of the handle. Now they should stand firm. Basically, the pointed ends of the nails should go forward, pointing away from the handle.
You are ready to place the batteries. Be very careful with this item, as it does not have a button to turn on the electricity, it is already active and running. Try to test it on an inanimate object. The taser must produce strong sparks when in contact with the object. Do not use this as a joke to other people or animals. It can cause serious damage!

Stun baton taser
You can also build a stun baton, that is, the end of the baton will have the stun / taser ends to electrocute the enemy / opponent.
Without going into too many details, you can take a PVC tube that has a cap on each end. The electrocuted end must have two protruding electrodes and must be 10 mm apart from each other. The other end of the baton must have the actual load part, which will produce 5VDC. You can also connect LED lights so you have an indication of when it is working and when it is not.
For the battery, you can use a lithium ion cell. This alone will not shut off more than 4 volts. Also connect a boost circuit inside, so you can quadruple the voltage up to 16 volts. If you add a Royer circuit later, you can end up with the incredible 900 volts. You can experiment with different types of circuit boards, and if you have access to different refurbished appliances, you can disassemble them and test your boards.
A few words of caution.
Either way, a circuit board and battery pack will take you anywhere on your trip to do a taser. It is very important to be careful before being too curious. In addition, it is better to handle this manual operation always with thick rubber gloves, especially to work with electrical circuit boards, or you risk electrocution.
You may also need to verify the laws and regulations of your country, state or region, as some of these devices may be illegal. This means that if you want to use this device on the street you may have problems later with the local authorities. Never carry this in public too, even if you do not use it. It is a potentially deadly weapon and can be in serious trouble.
Keep these items out of the reach of children and animals (especially if you have them at home). It is also better to keep the Taser in a folder or in a case, and remove the battery at all times when not in use. Even if it is far from the reach of children, they may still have the imagination to find it.
And finally, do not play with this object. Most of them, as already pointed out, are a constant current, which means that they can tear the tissues of your body and damage vital organs permanently, and eventually kill the person / animal in seconds.
