NAZ-7, NAZ-7M and NAZ-8, wearable emergency supplies of pilots and crews of aircraft, aircraft for survival in extreme environmental conditions.

Before the crew of an airplane or other aircraft, found themselves in an autonomous existence, a number of tasks arise, the solution of which depends on the preservation of life and health. This is protection against the adverse effects of environmental factors, providing first aid to victims, satisfying water and food needs, overcoming stressful conditions, and so on. All this should have been provided by NAZ-7, NAZ-7M, NAZ-8.

With the increase in the flight range of aircraft and in connection with this the possibility of quick movement of the crew from one geographical zone to another, the need arose to create a unified multi-purpose NAZ. For this, comparative tests of various products that are already part of the existing NAZ Fig and NAZ-5 were carried out. The studies were carried out in the wooded and swampy terrain of the taiga, in the upper reaches of the Khor River, in the Khabarovsk Territory in September-October 1966.

We tested the product Perch outfit with special devices for lifting with a helicopter, a tent boat, a knife saw, a hammock, a machete knife, a wrist compass and other NAZ objects for pilots. As a result of the experiments, methods were developed for evacuating a person using a winch in the mode of a helicopter hovering from a wooded area.

They also assessed the possibility of survival on a limited supply of food through gathering, fishing and hunting using improvised means. At the same time, products included in existing and promising NAZs were evaluated. The result of the research was the development of a new NAZ-7, its modification of the NAZ-7M, and then the NAZ-8, the equipment of which provides for the possibility of their use in any region of the globe.

Wearable emergency stocks NAZ-7, NAZ-7M, NAZ-8.

Wearable emergency stocks NAZ-7, NAZ-7M, NAZ-8 are designed to maintain the life of a flight crew member and give them signals about their whereabouts after a forced landing or splashdown.

All NAZ-7, NAZ-7M, NAZ-8 contain:

1. Signaling and communications.
2. Emergency supply of food and water.
3. Emergency medical kit.
4. Camp equipment.

But their composition in all three NAZs is slightly different.

The mass of the NAZ-7 is 10 kilograms. Depending on the areas over which flights are conducted, the following are additionally included in NAZ-7:

For snowy areas folding snowshoe skis.
For waterless areas, two 1.5 liter water tanks.
For flights over the sea, a MLAS-1 OB boat or PSN-1 raft with a package of fluorescein (signal dye), XO-2 desalination plant and 10 desalination briquettes. Each briquette desalinates 700 grams of sea water or 350 grams of ocean water.
