Reactive signal cartridges are designed for signaling at night and daytime. There are 30 mm reactive signal cartridges of red and green lights that serve for signaling at night and daytime and 30 mm reactive signal cartridges of red and blue smoke for signaling only in the daytime.

In appearance and dimensions, the 30-mm reactive signal cartridges are the same as a lighting cartridge. Instead of a lighting star, a single-star cartridge rocket has a signal star giving a red or green flame when burning.

30 mm multi-star jet signal cartridges (section).
The rocket of the 30-mm multi-star jet signal cartridge consists of an aluminum case, in which the reactive part is located, three signal stars of red or green fire, each of which is enclosed in a cardboard shell, and two blow-out charges of the powdery gun powder – lower and upper.
30 mm daylight reactive signal cartridges.
The 30-mm daylight rocket launcher rocket consists of an aluminum case in which the reactive part and six smoke bombs are placed. The reactive part of this signal cartridge differs from the reactive part of the 30-mm light cartridge by the presence of a metal shell designed to improve its tightness and a metal cup with an ignition mixture used to ignite smoke bombs.

Smoke bombs are cylinders with a channel, compressed from special pyrotechnic compositions containing substances that color the smoke in red or blue. Smoke bombs are separated by paper gaskets and secured to the body using metal diaphragms – top and bottom.
In the upper part of the body of the signal rocket there is a window for exit, closed to seal the rocket with a foil circle. The action of a signal rocket until the ignition star burns out is the same as the effect of a rocket lighting cartridge.
After combustion of the igniter star, the igniter mixture in the glass that ignites the smoke bombs ignites. Smoke generated by the combustion of smoke bombs breaks through the foil covering the window a in the upper part of the rocket body and exits the body, giving a signal in the form of a red or blue ribbon.

The 15 mm signal cartridge consists of a mortar, a signal sprocket, a knockout cartridge and additional parts: wad and safety cap. The mortar serves to house a signal star and a knock-out cartridge. It protects the sprocket from mechanical stress and moisture and directs its flight when fired. On the lower part of the mortar there is a thread on which, when loading, a device for shooting cartridges is screwed.

The signal star is a cylinder pressed from a special pyrotechnic composition, during the combustion of which a colored flame is formed. Cartridges are equipped with stars, giving when they burn a flame of red, green or yellow.
The kick-out cartridge is designed to communicate to the signal star of translational motion and for its ignition. It consists of a sleeve, inside of which there is a blow charge from gunpowder and an impact composition. The wad eliminates the loss of a signal star from the mortar and protects it from moisture. A safety cap protects the knockout cartridge from accidental impacts and bumps when handling it.
