In the manufacture of a simple top, you must first assemble its frame. From flexible, even branches of bushes or trees, make five rings. If you can’t bend the branches into rings, you can make triangles, squares or ovals from them.
Simple traps for fish, the manufacture of the simplest vertices, the installation of pens for fishing in extreme and emergency situations.
The first three rings of the simplest vertex should be of the same diameter, for the neck and the main part of the trap. The next two rings with a decrease in diameter must be made so that the main (frame) poles attached to them can meet without special stress at their ends at one point, forming the bottom of the trap and be interconnected. Frame, longitudinal poles need at least 3-4 pieces. The distance between the circles of the top frame depends on the length of the poles.
Poles can be attached to the rings of the simplest vertex with thin, flexible branches (willows) woven into a braid with stripes of young bark, woven into a braid with grass, stripes of fabric, a bandage and the like. Then, the frame of the simplest top should be densely interwoven with thinner branches or long grass so that small fish could not jump out of it. At the entrance to this trap, you can install several options for devices that do not allow caught fish to freely break free.
For example, several pointed pegs connected in a row on a rotary axis and an additional cross member. The axis is fixed between the longitudinal poles of the frame on the first, input ring. Bind the cord to the additional cross-member of the locking mechanism so that when it is pulled in, the entrance to the trap is reliably locked when rising from the water. When installing the simplest top in working position, the locking mechanism must be opened inward.
Or you can bend the ends of the flexible branches of the longitudinal braid protruding in a circle above the entrance to the trap so that a funnel with a small hole for entering the fish forms. If there are no suitable branches, you need to cut thin poles with side branches in the thickened, butt part (fork of branches). Then, attach them to the entrance ring of the simplest vertex so that the cut side branches, converging at the entrance to the center of the trap, form a kind of entrance funnel.
Hollow Dead Tree Fish Trap.
A fish trap from a hollow trunk of a dead tree will have the same general design principle as that of a simple top. To create such a fish trap, you need to find a part of a thick tree trunk, rotten from the inside, up to two meters long. Clean the tree trunk from the inside so that it looks like a hollow cylinder. Close one end of it with interwoven branches, fabric, polyethylene, and so on, so that then the fish caught in such a trap cannot jump out.
From the entrance of the trap, at an angle in a circle, it is necessary to drill with a knife or burn a hole burning with a metal-hot rod. Then insert into these holes strong, pointed at the ends of the branches so that an inlet funnel is formed. Place the bait inside the trap and set it under water. Such traps for fish can be made from any oblong and hollow material, a piece of metal or plastic pipe, a box or box made of polyethylene, a can, a canister, a barrel, a plastic bottle and the like..
The device of pens for fishing in extreme and emergency situations.
A fish pen is located along the shore. To do this, drive two dense rows of stakes into the bottom so that an elongated corridor forms. The longer the better. At both ends of the corral, make partitions bent inward from the stakes, these will be the entrances for the fish. At the bottom of the pen, it is advisable to throw earthworms, snails, mussels, soaked bread and any other bait.
Rows of stakes driven into the bottom of the reservoir can form pens for fish and maze traps of arbitrary shape. For example, a labyrinth consisting of many semicircles and spirals interconnected. The entrance to the trap will consist of two semicircles located nearby and forming a narrow figured corridor. For strength, stakes are best wound and fastened together.
The principle of operation of all such primitive fishing pen traps is to lure the fish with a bait or block its path, or scare the fish so that it goes to a specially prepared and constructed for it corral, from which it will no longer be able to escape and leave.
