The TK series of flashlights is positioned by Fenix as highly reliable and powerful flashlights for tourists, hunters, law enforcement officers and rescuers. The Fenix TK12 flashlight, provided for testing by Fonarik, was used in various, sometimes even very harsh, conditions for several months.

knife and other) and abrasive materials (stone, sand, etc.).

Structurally, the Fenix TK12 flashlight consists of 4 parts: a head with a diode, a reflector and electronics; compartment for batteries; removable ring for the so-called tactical grip; cover with button. The head of the lantern, one of not many in the TC series, is equipped with special protrusions for breaking glass. During operation, the side car glass was broken by a lamp, the lamp remained without damage. Due to the presence of protrusions and a reliable design, the flashlight can be used as a weapon in hand-to-hand combat.

There are five special grooves on the head of the Fenix TK12 flashlight that prevent the flashlight from rolling off inclined surfaces. When using a tactical ring with four faces, the ability to roll the flashlight on the surface is prevented altogether. The casing and the cover with a button have a fairly deep anti-slip knurling, which makes holding the lamp quite reliable in many situations.

The button is protected by special protrusions which, on the one hand, do not interfere with finger pressure, and on the other, prevent the lamp from being accidentally turned on in a closed case, as on some models of the same SureFire. The lantern is equipped with a removable belt clip of good quality. The clip reliably fixes the flashlight on the waist belt, equipment elements and the MOLLE type attachment system. The clip is mounted in a special groove on the lamp in the following order, we twist the cover with the button and the tactical ring we put the clip on the seat.

Attention! The clip cannot be used without a tactical ring, it will not be fixed on the seat and there is a risk of losing the lamp due to the separation of the clip.

I would especially like to note the strength of the Fenix TK12 flashlight. When mounted on a weapon, it withstands recoil of both short and long barrel up to 12 gauge. It withstands a fall from a height of 15-17 meters onto granite and concrete. As a result, small dents appeared on the protruding parts of the head and the lid with a button; it does not affect performance. It withstands hit from a distance of three meters from a traumatic weapon by a reinforced (200 KJ) cartridge. There are dents on the body and the head part (with electronics!) Of the flashlight. It does not affect performance.

The claimed water resistance (10 meters) is confirmed during dives to a depth of 5-7 meters and during amphibious operations. Water resistant even after the above damage.

The design of the Fenix TK12 provides for the possibility of using different batteries. Two CR123 cells or one 18650 rechargeable battery. Due to the larger capacity of the latter, the maximum lamp operating time is increased. It must be remembered that the diameter of the 18650 battery is larger than the diameter of the CR123 cell, therefore this battery is not suitable for use in all flashlights.

Flashlight Fenix TK12 has a good brightness and range. Due to the smooth reflector, TK12 gives a concentrated light spot without shading at ranges up to 150 meters. The operating time declared by the manufacturers is true. Using a 18650 battery increases by about 7%. Flashlight Fenix TK12 has 6 modes of operation, which are divided into 3 groups. The power of the modes and their division into groups are well thought out and selected for ease of operation.

Hunting mode. 280 lumens, strobe. It can be used in hunting and for working with weapons in low light conditions..
Camping mode. 11 lumens is used for illumination when working in a camp, tent. The mode is bright enough, while providing 120 hours of continuous operation. 120 lumens used if necessary to brightly illuminate the subject.
Default mode. 65 lumens, 280 lumens. It is used when moving in the dark. The 65 lumens mode is excellent for operating the flashlight with all kinds of accessories (diffusion lenses of white and red light, etc.).

When working with weapons, it is very convenient to use the Fenix AR102 remote button, which is screwed onto the Fenix TK12 flashlight instead of the standard button. The switch is carried out on any convenient surface, for example, under the arm holding the weapon. The accessory has a permanent power button and a block of 4 buttons for tactical (short-term) power-on; it is installed in any convenient place on double-sided tape or electrical tape. The length of the cord varies from 30 to 90 cm.

The overall result after using and testing the Fenix TK12 flashlight.

All of the above: exceptional strength, reliability and ergonomics of the design, a wide range of accessories used, the power of the flashlight and finally its price (about 100 USD) make the Fenix TK12 flashlight one of the best when choosing a tactical flashlight. During the tests, the flashlight did not malfunction. The only cause of malfunctions (which, according to other users, sometimes occur in this model) is the contamination of the contact group in the head of the lamp. The problem is eliminated with an alcohol wipe, in one minute.

The manufacturer, in the instructions, points out this problem and recommends that you keep the contacts clean and wipe them at least once every two months. The Fenix TK12 can be deservedly recommended for use in harsh conditions by employees of law enforcement agencies and rescuers. It will also be useful to hunters, underwater hunters, divers, yachtsmen and people in general, on duty or hobbies who need a reliable and bright source of light. Unfortunately, according to rumors, Fenix plans to stop production of the Fenix TK12 flashlight model in the near future..
