The behavior and actions of a person caught in an extreme or emergency situation.

The first reaction of a person to danger is always instinctive, since self-preservation is a powerful instinct. Therefore, the main requirement in the struggle for survival is clarity of thought and its concentration on the next task facing you. First of all, if you get into an extreme or emergency situation, you need to evaluate your situation and plan your actions.

Behavior and actions of a person caught in an extreme or emergency situation.

Never, under any circumstances, despair! Remember: there are no hopeless situations; there are desperate people! Of course, it is impossible to give universal recipes for all possible cases because of the unpredictability of an extreme situation and its development. However, human behavior and the plan of priority actions under any circumstances will be the same.

In the event of an accident on a land vehicle, after an emergency landing of an airplane, a helicopter crash, or falling into a natural disaster area, proceed as follows:

1. To get out from under:

Vehicle wreckage.
Stone block in the mountains or cave.
Building or rock collapsing during an earthquake.
Snow avalanche.

2. Leave the danger zone as soon as possible, given the possibility of:

Explosion or fire of a vehicle.
Earthquake.
Falling into the zone of incidence of volcanic bombs, hot ash or lava flow during a volcanic eruption.
Catastrophic rise in water level in a river or cave.
Re-avalanche or mudflow.

3. If you were one or all the rest of your comrades died, then:

Assess your condition for visible and hidden injuries.
Give yourself first aid.

4. If there are no injuries or they allow you to move, then, if possible, it is necessary to take out of the vehicle everything that may come in handy:

Medicines.
Clothing and Products.
Means of communication.
Tools and so on.

5. Leave the accident site, moving away to a safe distance and arrange shelter from adverse weather conditions (rain, snow, wind).

6. After the immediate threat to life has passed, it is necessary to assess the situation and decide on further actions..

Any extreme situation is characterized by the fact that a person is not able to predict when it will happen. There is a good Russian proverb: If I knew where you would fall, then I laid the straw. Therefore, most often a person is not only unprepared for getting into an extreme or emergency situation, but also does not have at hand the most necessary. And, first of all, this applies to the first-aid kit. The success of salvation depends not so much on the speed of liberation from the rubble or debris of the crashed transport, but on the correctness of medical self-help.

It is very simple to offer when providing first aid, use a tourniquet, bandages, cotton wool, tincture of iodine, gauze, adhesive and the like. And if none of this exists ?! Indeed, if you get into an extreme situation during an airplane, ship or other type of transport accident, natural disaster, first-aid kit, you really may not find yourself, like any other property that drowned, burned down, was carried away by a tornado, fell into the abyss…

In this case, knowledge of the rules for providing the first elementary medical self-help will help, as well as knowledge of the properties of various wild medicinal plants. Therefore, you should carefully familiarize yourself with their appearance, places of growth and medicinal properties. In addition, you need to know what injuries can be expected in a given accident, disaster, natural disaster..
