The legend of Nocino liquor on a walnut.

Liquor “Nochino” is of Italian (Neapolitan) origin. Its preparation is consecrated by ancient traditions and legends. For the manufacture of liquor, green walnuts are used, collected on the day of St. Giovanni (on the night of June 24–25), exclusively by barefoot virgins. When cooking, you must use an odd amount of nuts. Each walnut must be divided exactly into 4 parts.

Each village in Northern Italy, and sometimes each family, has its own special recipe for a drink. Every year in Italy competitions are held for the best Nochino. It is produced both industrially in Italy and for some reason in New Zealand. Nochino is an ink-dark, viscous drink with medicinal properties (digestive organs, heart), with a strength of 40 degrees. The taste of liquor is bittersweet.
